- Did you know that the Ukulele is tuned similarly to the the four highest strings on the guitar?
- Did you know that the same chords you already know on the guitar can be applied to the Ukulele as well?
- Did you know that some Ukulele’s are tuned exactly like a guitar?
Ukulele and Guitar are close cousins!
When I picked up a Ukulele for the first time, I was immediately able to play a few of the most popular Ukulele songs around: “Somewhere of the Rainbow / What a Wonderful World Medley” by Israel Ka’ano’i Kamakawiwo’ole (Braddah Iz), “Riptide” by Vance Joy and “House of Gold” by Twenty One Pilots! Easy!
If you play guitar, you already know how to play the Ukulele. Adding this simple, small, portable and fun instrument to your arsenal could be a great way to stimulate new interest in the instrument you already own!
Have you been wanting to play guitar but find it a bit too daunting? Ukulele could be a great way to transition into guitar playing as the tuning is very similar (relatively identical) but simplifies by only having 4 instead of 6 strings.
Arvada Guitar can help you get your head (and your hands) around the Ukulele!
